What do I receive by subscribing?
As a subscriber you receive a new award-winning and acclaimed film each month to own on DVD, at least a month before it is made available to the general public. Included on each DVD is a director’s statement, a "Why We Selected" explanation, and trailers of other Film Movement titles. Subscribers also receive special discounts on all DVDs and blu-rays in Film Movement’s catalog.
Do I get to choose the films that are sent?
You are not able to select the films within your DVD Club subscription because Film Movement titles are carefully chosen by an acquisitions team with over 30 years combined experience in the independent film industry. They travel around the world to the leading domestic and international film festivals, covering thousands of films to bring you the most innovative, exciting and groundbreaking award-winning pictures. We make our selections carefully, and always make sure our films are both entertaining and thought-provoking.
How do I subscribe?
Click here and follow the instructions to begin your subscription. If you prefer to place your order by telephone, call us at 866/YES-FILM. Subscribers must be 18 years or older and reside in the US.
How do I know that my order was successful?
You will receive an confirmation upon checkout as well as a confirmation email with your complete order information.
When will my first DVD Club title ship?
You will receive your first DVD within 6-9 business days from the time you place your order.
How long is my Monthly subscription and when will I get billed?
Monthly subscriptions are ongoing until you choose to discontinue the subscription. Your first billing is the date of your order and billings for future films occur on the first day of each month.
What is the renewal policy for my subscription?
If your annual subscription lapses before renewing or canceling, your subscription will automatically renew after its expiration date and become a monthly subscription. This monthly subscription can be canceled anytime. All rules that apply to our monthly subscription apply to this subscription. The automatic renewing of the annual subscription into a monthly subscription can be turned off at any time by logging into your account and disabling the auto-renew.
Monthly subscriptions continue each month until cancelled. Billing for the month after your 1st month occurs on the 1st of each month. At any point during your subscription you may choose to cancel. This can be done by disabling the auto-renew within your account. In order to not receive a particular film you must cancel in the previous month. For example you must cancel in November to not be billed for or shipped the December film.
What do gift recipients receive?

Subscribers also receive special discounts on all DVDs and blu-rays in Film Movement’s catalog.

We make our selections carefully, and always make sure our films are both entertaining and thought-provoking.
How do I order a gift subscription?
GIFT SUBSCRIPTIONS are given in the form of an email gift certificate. During the ordering process customers complete an email gift certificate that can be printed or emailed on the day of your choosing. This email gift certificate contains a REDEMPTION CODE that your recipient uses to start the subscription. The recipient enters their redemption code and address when redeeming the gift. Immediately after redemption the subscription will start and the first film will be mailed.
When do I enter the address of the gift recipient?
Gift givers do not enter the address of the gift recipient during the order. The recipient enters their shipping address when they redeem the gift.
Do gift subscriptions start automatically?
No. The gift recipient must use the REDEMPTION CODE that appears on their gift card to start the subscription. The redeem process is initiated on the REDEEM page of our website.
What if I want to delay my gift to coincide with a birthday or holiday?
You may choose to print or send the gift card email on whatever day you like.
How do I redeem my gift?
The email gift card that you received contains a redemption code. Visit the gift section of our website to complete the redemption process.
How do I redeem my gift if I have an existing Film Movement account?
If you have an existing account with Film Movement choose the ALREADY HAVE AN ACCOUNT button on the REDEEM page of our website. You will need to log in using your current username and password to make insure that the redemption is processed to your current account. If you have a subscription that is currently active the new gift subscription will be added to the end of that subscription. If you already have an account, but you do not have an active subscription the new subscription will begin immediately.
Do unredeemed gifts expire?
Yes. Gifts that are not redeemed within 1 year of the date of purchase become invalid.
Will gifts automatically be renewed?
No. Gift subscriptions are for fixed amounts of time. The recipient may renew the subscription at any time before or after the subscription expires. Gift givers that want to renew a gift must simply purchase a new gift. When the recipient redeems the new gift as an existing subscriber the new gift will automatically be added to the end of the previous gift.
What is the DVD Club renewal policy for non-gift subscriptions?
Paid upfront non-gift subscriptions automatically renew at expiration and become monthly subscriptions. This monthly subscription can be canceled anytime. All rules that apply to our monthly subscription apply to this subscription. The automatic renewing of the paid upfront non-gift subscription into a monthly subscription can be turned off at any time by logging into your account and disabling the auto-renew. Paid upfront non-gift subscriptions can renewed with another Paid upfront non-gift subscriptions at any time by simply contacting us or logging into your account.

The owner of the subscription can simply purchase a renewal form within their account. Gift givers seeking to renew a previous gift must simply give a new gift. The gift recipient will need to redeem the new gift from within their account to be properly credited for the new gift.

Non-gift subscriptions may not be cancelled or refunded. All annual subscription sales are final. Gift subscriptions may not be cancelled or refunded. All gift subscription sales are final.
Disabling the auto-renew of non-gift subscriptions
The auto-renew feature can be turned off by logging into your account clicking the "Subscription" link. Then click the "No" button next to the "Auto-Renew Enabled” text.
What is your refund policy?
No refunds are available for non-gift and gift subscriptions or catalog film purchases. Defective films may be returned for a replacement, but not a refund.
What is your return and refund policy for defective DVDs?
If you receive a defective DVD you have 30 days to return it to our NY address. If returning a defective DVD, we will happily replace it with the same title; we cannot exchange a defective DVD for a different DVD title or a refund. If you wish to exchange the film, please send an email to info@filmmovement.com or call 1-866-YES-FILM to notify us of the defect. We will send a replacement film and a self-addressed stamped envelope for you to return the defective film to us. Please include a note with the returned film stating the nature of the defect.
What is your return policy for non-defective subscription and catalog films?
We do not accept returns or exchanges for non-defective Film Club and catalog films.
When will my first subscription film ship?
You will receive your first subscription DVD within 5-10 business days from the time you place your order.
When do subsequent films after my first subscription film ship?
All subscription DVD films after your first are scheduled for shipment the second week of every month. Upon shipping a shipping confirmation email will be sent to the email address associated with your subscription.
If I buy an individual DVD and not a subscription, when will it ship?
You should receive your first film within 3-7 days after placing your order if you select the Standard shipping option. Two day and Overnight Delivery options are also available.
Do you offer 2 Day or Overnight shipping?
Yes, film catalog orders can be shipped via 2 Day Fed Ex or Overnight Fed Ex. Costs vary depending on the size of the order. Overnight and 2 day shipping orders must be received before 12pm EST to be processed on the same day. Expedited shipping is not available with subscriptions.
How do I know when my film has shipped?
Upon shipment, you will receive a shipping confirmation email.
Can I order a subscription or catalog film for delivery outside the United States and its territories?
Subscriptions are only available to those with shipping addresses within the U.S and U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico and the U.S., Virgin Islands. Subscriptions may also be delivered to U.S. overseas military addresses.

No, Film Movement is a curated experience. Each subscriber will receive the same film each month.

What are my payment options?
Film Movement accepts most major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
Do you charge sales tax?
Film Movement is a New York company, so we must charge sales tax on New York State orders.
How do I reach customer service?
Email us at info@filmmovement.com or call us at 866/YES-FILM between the hours of 10:30am and 5:30pm EST. Monday - Friday. You should get a response within 24 - 48 hours. For security purposes, please do not email us credit card information.
When I contact customer service what information should I have?
Please have your user name (it is usually your email address), your password, and the first and last name of the account holder. If you do not have your password, click on the Forgot Your Password link on the Member Login page. If you do not have this information, call us at 866/YES-FILM and we will ask you a number of security questions to verify your identity.
Can I order a subscription or DVDs for delivery outside the United States and its territories?
Subscriptions and DVDs are available to those with shipping addresses within the U.S and U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico and the U.S., Virgin Islands. Subscriptions and DVDs may also be delivered to U.S. overseas military addresses.
Is the Film Movement site secure?
Yes. Film Movement works with an industry leader in security and authentication to make its site secure. To safeguard your credit card information, Film Movement uses SSL (Secure Socket Layers), the industry standard online ordering security system. SSL encrypts all ordering information so that no part of your order, including your name, address and credit card number, can be read in transit by an unauthorized third party. Is my personal information secure
Film Movement is committed to protecting your privacy. The information we collect about you is used exclusively to process orders and to provide a more personalized experience. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. We will not ask for your authorization to share your account information. Your personal password is the only key to access your account.
What will you do with my email address?
Your email address is used to identify you as a subscriber and used to send you confirmation of your transaction. It is also used to send you confirmation of future shipments as well as to send you our newsletter and other Film Movement special offers if you choose to receive them. I am a retailer and I would like to purchase some of your releases to sell at my store. How do I set up an account?

How can I stream your films if I am not an existing streaming subscriber?
We have launched a streaming service called Film Movement Plus, which allows subscribers to watch on any device, including IOS and Android mobile devices, Apple TV, Amazon Fire and Roku. To learn more, and to start your free trial, visit FilmMovement.plus.
Can I stream films outside the United States?
Film Movement Plus can be accessed from within the United States and its territories, as well as in Canada. Not all films are available in Canada, but a majority of the films on the service are available in both countries.
How will I be billed?
You will be billed monthly if you are a monthly subscriber. You can also choose to pay up front for any subscription length from 2 months to one year. Your credit card statement will reflect a charge from Film Movement Plus.
Do I need to sign up for Film Movement Plus to rent a film from your website?
No. You do not need to sign up for a Film Movement Plus subscription, although most of our films available for rental are available for no additional charge to Film Movement Plus subscribers (usually indicated on the film page on this website).
How do I rent a film from your website?
Click on the RENT NOW button on the film page.
How do I watch the film that I rented on my TV?
For more information on how to watch the film you rented, please refer to the email that was sent to you after your ticket purchase. If this does not work for you, please reach out to us for support.

How long is my rental active?
Once you have rented a film, you will be able to watch it for 72 hours. You can watch the film as many times as you would like during this period.
