Comedy Confessions
There are over 58,000 homeless people in Los Angeles County, and on any given night, there are over 550,000 homeless people in America. Here are three of their stories, told in their own words.
COMEDY CONFESSIONS follows the lives of three struggling comedians dedicated to pursuing their dreams of careers in stand-up despite the harsh realities of being homeless. One of them, Tiffany Haddish, eventually achieves her goals and becomes a Hollywood star. The other two, Doc Jones and Steven Lolli, discover that the lure of the spotlight takes an unforgiving toll on their hopes and ambitions. Told with unflinching honesty, this touching film mixes humor and pathos to reveal the passion, dedication, and pain behind these comedians' real-life stories.
"The film is a stark reminder of the lengths people will go to in order to achieve their dreams...COMDEY CONFESSIONS will resonate with anyone who’s ever pursued a passion or dream...This title would work well in public libraries for patrons aspiring to lead creative lives and fans of comedy. - "Both emotional and fascinating."
- "It’s a frank and frankly amazing thing to see. We’ve heard Jim Carrey talk about being homeless in his lean years, but here’s video proof how Haddish and comics Steven Lolli and Doc Jones lived in a Metro, a Toyota Corolla and a GMC pickup on the streets."
- "Illuminating and sympathetic...."
